(This outline is appropriate for any type of ladies meeting.)

The meeting may be started by having a fashion show using unique fashions created by the well-dressed church lady.  This skit can be found on my party planning page entitled Fashion Show.

You will need a skirt, blouse, scarf and hat to represent items in the following verse.  Each article of clothing should have a signed pinned on it with the corresponding word.)

I.                 Read scripture:  “Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.”  Job 40:10 NIV

II.               Words and their definitions:

a.              Majesty (skirt) – Greatness and dignity

b.              Honor (blouse) – Good name; reputation; high respect

c.              Splendor (scarf) – Luster or brilliance

d.              Glory (hat) – Great honor; praise

III.              Read scripture:   “For it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.”  I Peter 1:16

IV.            Ask:  “Have you ever had trouble with this verse?

a.              Holy means “set apart”.

b.              One person said, “I don’t want to be set apart.  It sounds like being in quarantine for having a constant case of measles.”

c.              Holiness does not bring isolation but integration.

d.              With Christ in you, his character becomes a part of you so that his nature may be expressed through you.

e.              Christlikeness will come out of you naturally.

f.                 God calls you holy.

V.              May we have the proper adornment as we share with others and in our families.
