Valentine’s Day is a holiday that helps us focus our attention to those we love. I looked up some synonyms for the word “love.” They include: affection, devotion, fondness and infatuation. As you can see, these indeed are phrases that help us navigate our thoughts toward that special person in our lives.
Many people exemplify genuine love daily through their actions toward their family and others with whom they come in contact. I strive to attain that attribute.
As I become mindful of demonstrating love to others, I realize that God shows us unconditional love every day for “God is Love”. I John 4:16John 4:16
English: American Standard Version (1901) - ASV
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
WP-Bible plugin ASV states, “And we know and have believed the love which God hath in us. God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God abideth in him.” No other descriptive word is needed. This scripture says it all.
God is the source of love. His love toward us is not contingent upon who we are, what we have done or what we have not done. It is the essence of who He is . . . . “love”. He desires only the best for us. As God’s love is mirrored through us to others, we should be the perfect reflection of His love.
Thank God that He loves me just the way I am. Help me to love others in the same way.
God is Love!!!!

Thank you Alberta!
Enjoyed reading your uplifting article re: God is Love.
Went to visit mom yesterday and she was in a state of exasperation. I asked simply if she “needed” a hug (an expression of love as you pointed out) and she was surprised but accepted quickly. We hugged and we both laughed. Love is a healing medicine for a hungry soul. Praise God that He provides it just when we need it the most and that we recognize that it’s what we really need in the first place.
Blessings,
Mary
Thanks for sharing about your visit with your mom. That was heart warming.
What is so exciting about the love we show to others is that it doesn’t cost anything. In these tough economic times it is something we can all give freely. Jesus gives it to us freely and unconditionally and that is what we should do also.
God’s love is the greatest of all!
