Keep On, Keeping On

Please check out my web site: www.soyouretheministerswife.com

There was an common phrase uttered in the full-gospel church I attended as a child. That phrase simply stated was, “Keep on, keeping on.” I was at the point of wondering if I was accomplishing anything with my web site or blog after almost two years of having it online. Was anyone reading my blog? Was anyone checking out my web site? Was I ministering to anyone? Pity party, pity party, pity party!!!

Then at just the time I was feeling the lowest about this God-directed effort to touch people, I received a prayer request through my Prayer Journey (online prayer request feature) that really brought home to me the importance to keep going with the web site and blog even if just one person is blessed or encouraged. I hope my correspondence to this individual has somehow encouraged her as a pastor’s wife. I know I have been encouraged by being able to share with a fellow minister’s wife.

Philippians 2:16Philippians 2:16
English: American Standard Version (1901) - ASV

16 holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain.

WP-Bible plugin
admonishes us: “Holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain.”

So . . . here I remain with an even more fervent mindset to keep on and know that I did not run nor labor in vain. Life is a struggle but thank God he sustains us and helps us each day. I will begin this new year with a renewed determination. My admonishment to myself and everyone else is to “keep on, keeping on”!

I know what you mean Alberta! I have only been blogging for 1 year this January and I was wondering if anyone actually read any of the articles I was posting.

It was slow but eventually I started receiving small comments and that’s all it took for me to “keep on keeping on” attitude. Then I remembered that I’d also read so many articles and I had never posted on them to let them know how much I enjoyed their information and I love education. I will try to be more careful and be more appreciative of other people’s blogs and will be posting more comments of appreciation as a result.

Keep up your own great work, I do appreciate your wisdom.

    Blessings,

    Hello Alberta:
I pray the transition in Missouri has been a good one and without any complications.
I believe that there’s a way to put a “visitor counter” on a blog/website, but I know me well enough to know how that would affect me. Especially if I could see a low number, after a lot of hard work. Having a counter would hinder me greatly as my focus would be on numbers and not on writing articles, etc. Thereby taking my focus off God and what He wants me to do, as He got me started on my website anyway! :)
God Bless you Alberta! Thank you for your article. :)

Thanks for your comment. I, along with you, believe that what we accomplish for God does not always have to be counted in numbers. We are to bear fruit for Christ but some of the best fruit is hidden underneath, not always visible at first glance. God’s accountability is not always in numbers but in our faithfulness to do what He has asked us to do.

Things are going well in Missouri. If you are ever in the area, stop by for a visit.

    Keep up the good work.
